Kayak along the quiet, forested shores of Piscataway Bay to Mockley Point, where Piscataway Creek opens into the Potomac River. This is a great route for viewing adult and juvenile bald eagles. This tour provides a wonderful historical perspective of the region, with distant views of Mount Vernon, the Washington Monument, the Capitol Building, and the Fort Washington Light House. Captain John Smith first met the Piscataway Indians here in 1608. It’s easy to imagine what life was like in this area hundreds of years ago!

The Bladensburg Waterfront Park is located on the Anacostia River, one of the most historic waterways in America. The unique waterfront features a paved riverside walk, picnic pavilion, a public fishing pier, free boat ramp, community boat storage, playground, B&O railroad caboose, interpretive signage, and bicycle, canoe, kayak, paddle boat, and rowboat rentals. The free interpretive pontoon tours allow visitors to explore this surprisingly scenic river. The park also offers educational environmental and social studies programs.
